Locksmith FAQ for Stockton, CA
Straight answers to the questions we hear most, about pricing, timing, lockouts, keys and staying safe from locksmith scams. Still stuck? Just call and ask.
How quickly can you get to me?
We're based in Stockton with technicians moving around the area, so most local calls are reached quickly. When you phone, we'll give you an honest arrival window for your exact address rather than a vague "soon." Emergencies like lockouts are prioritized.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the job, lock type, time of day and location, but you'll always get a clear price before any work begins. We don't do surprise fees. For typical price ranges in the area, read our locksmith cost guide.
Will you damage my lock or door?
Almost never. Damage-free entry is the goal on every lockout, so your existing lock keeps working afterward. Drilling is a genuine last resort, reserved for locks that are already broken or high-security models that can't be opened otherwise, and we'll always explain and quote it first.
Are you available at night and on weekends?
Yes. We're a 24/7 locksmith, every day of the year, including nights, weekends and holidays. Locks never fail at a convenient time, so we make sure someone always answers.
Do you need proof it's my property?
Yes, and it's a good sign when a locksmith asks. Before opening any property we'll ask for ID or proof you live there, own it or are authorized to enter. It protects you and everyone else, and every reputable locksmith does the same.
Should I rekey or replace my locks?
If your locks are in good condition, rekeying is usually cheaper and just as secure, it makes old keys useless while keeping your hardware. If they're worn, damaged or low quality, replacing is the better value. We'll give you both options and a straight recommendation. More in our rekey vs. replace guide.
Can you make a car key if I lost all of mine?
In most cases, yes. We can create and program a new key for many vehicles even when you have no working key at all. Tell us your car's year, make and model when you call so we arrive with the right equipment. See our automotive locksmith page.
How do I avoid locksmith scams?
Watch for a super-low phone quote that balloons on site, no company name, and pressure to drill a lock that could be picked. Choose a local business with a real address and reviews, and get the price confirmed before they start. We wrote a full guide: how to choose a trustworthy locksmith.
What areas do you cover?
Stockton and the surrounding San Joaquin County communities, including Lodi, Manteca, Tracy, Lathrop, Ripon, Escalon and Linden. If you're nearby and not sure, just call, there's a good chance we cover you.
Do you offer any guarantee?
We stand behind our workmanship and the hardware we install. If something we did isn't right, tell us and we'll make it right. We'd rather keep a customer for years than win once and disappear.
